Introduction to the WVPP

Welcome to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP). This comprehensive plan serves as a crucial framework for promoting a safe and respectful work environment for all employees.

Developed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the WVPP is designed to address and mitigate various forms of workplace violence, including physical altercations, verbal abuse, harassment, and discriminatory behavior.

By fostering effective communication channels and coordination with other employers when necessary, SFAF strives to enhance workplace safety and prevent incidents of violence. Central to the WVPP are procedures for promptly responding to reports of workplace violence, ensuring confidentiality, and prohibiting retaliation against reporting employees.

Moreover, the WVPP incorporates comprehensive training provisions to equip employees and supervisors with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, prevent, and respond to potential threats. Emergency response protocols are established to facilitate swift and effective action in crisis situations.

As an organization dedicated to promoting employee health and safety, SFAF conducts quarterly inspections to identify and evaluate workplace violence hazards. These inspections occur periodically, after violent incidents, and whenever new hazards arise. Additionally, the WVPP undergoes annual reviews and revisions to address any observed deficiencies and adapt to evolving circumstances.

By adhering to the WVPP, SFAF reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of its employees and underscores the importance of creating a workplace culture built on mutual respect, dignity, and inclusivity. Together, we can work towards a safer and healthier environment for everyone at SFAF.
